Frills and thrills.

The weather in Seattle has been phenomenal lately (I can actually wear summer dresses and rompers!), perfect for the mother's day weekend!

We headed over to Pike Place in the morning for some fresh flowers! They were gorgeous and had my favourite feathered tulips!

We went down south and had the most fabulous lunch with my family. My step-dad made amazing cajun meatloaf, which I've never had before, but it tasted just as great as if sounds if not better. I definitely took multiple helpings :) I also was able to take my mom's pup out for a walk.

I've been really enjoying pastels and the amazing Suzanne of Suzabelle Clothing sent me this fabulous dress that I haven't been able to wear yet until now.

Wedding Dessert Display

I am mesmerized with the dessert buffet trend going on. I have always loved my sweets (I need some sugar with me everywhere I go!) so the idea meshed with everything I wanted for our upcoming wedding.

Amy Atlas is a complete pro when it comes to making your dessert buffet look amazing!! Here's some of her work that inspired me:

field play.

The fiance and I went down to PDX to enjoy a weekend of sun, family, and wedding planning... moreso work than play. However, we got to sneak in a little afternoon date at the park :)

A 60s Birthday Party (for my main squeeze).

I put together a little birthday bash for my love's birthday. The twist: we had a 60s theme. The gents came in their finest suits (pocket squares, hats, & cigars optional) while the ladies came in their best cocktail dresses and gloves (pearls, hats, and fur optional) inspired by the 60s era. My favourite dress was Cheryl's vintage dress from the 60s--it was a stunner! And of course, I had to cook and bake everything :) Ryan has turned me into such a cheese fanatic, my favourites were the cheese dishes... well, and the cake I baked (lemon cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberry jam as the filling.

bridal shower

Thanks to my amazing and gorgeous matron of honour and maid of honour, as well as a fabulous mother, for a fantastic bridal shower! It was bundles of stress beforehand, due to some minor issues, but my future sister-in-law and I were able to arrive early to help relieve the tension... :) Also to my mother's neighbor (from the house I grew up in) who made these delicious cookies and helped my mother with flowers--you are amazing!

A few days ago I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with the lovely Lili Carlson. Although I ended up with a couple scrapes and bruises, it was quite fun (as well as humorous, I'm sure) to see me trying to climb up to the roof of a building with nothing else but a step stool and platform booties... Alas, we got the job done and I daresay it was a blast!

Here's a few of the pictures :)

I am really enjoying black & white photos... whether they're meant to be, or the wardrobe and background simply allow it. Here's some shots from a couple of photo shoots I had the privilege being in.

from the photo shoot with Jessika Levine.

from our engagement shoot.

from a trip to the zoo... which always leads to great pictures.

from my birthday party.

This first shoot was with Elizabeth Rudge (see her work here!).
